Based in Miami, Florida, Justin Lee Firestone is a pioneer in the US jet industry and a co-founder at Wheels Up, a private aviation company. Tasked with facilitating the company's growth through bold moves such as placing a $1.4 billion order, the largest ever in the general aviation industry, Justin Firestone also oversees Wheels Up’s philanthropic efforts.
Wheels Up’s Up the Way You Care program takes a unique and colorful approach to supporting various charities. Through the program, the aviation company paints select Beechcraft Air 350i aircraft colors that represent the causes it is supporting in order to raise awareness and funds for these charities’ missions. In February, the aircraft are painted red in support of American Heart Month. These planes fly across the country raising awareness on the American Heart Association’s (AHA’s) Life is Why We Give campaign, which promotes healthy living as well as SIMON’S Heart, an organization that educates people on the warning signs associated with cardiac problems in children. For every Wheels Up membership purchased in February, the company donates a portion of initiation fees to AHA’s Life is Why We Give and SIMON’S Heart. As the company bulks up its fleet, it continues to expand its philanthropic activity. For example, the company debuted a King Air 350i plane in 2016 with a striking teal appearance that takes to the skies during September in support of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. It also operates a pink King Air 340i plane in October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
